Football Rules
The rules of football are easy enough to learn and most people have problems with coming to terms with them all in one go so the best way to learn about them is to go online or buy a book and learn while you watch.
The offside rule is the one that catches most people out but it is far easier than any make it out to be! Thrown ins must be taken when the ball goes out of play if the balls goes out along the sidelines while if it goes out behind the goal then a goal kick must be taken.
Yellow cards will be shown by the referee when a foul is committed that is deemed to only be valid for a warning. A red card will shown either when the second yellow is shown or on its own if the foul is deemed to be so bad that is deserves a straight red.
Eleven players must be played by two teams to play a professional match and in the English league; three substitutes may come on during the game in place for three other players. Those subbed off cannot return to the pitch later in the game.
The rules can be read about online at useful websites such as football56.co.uk and children as well as adults can learn how to play by checking out the rules online. Play will last for 90 minutes (45 minutes for each half) and added tie can be played for injuries and substitutions to make up for lapsed time.
