Football boots and other clothing
Football boots are made by most famous sports brands such as Nike and Adidas. The companies often sponsor players to wear their particular branded boots in order to gain more notoriety for the company.
Football shirts are also used as a way of sponsoring a team and the company emblem will be on show on the front on the shirt. The same will appear on the team’s shorts and some even go as far as sponsoring wrist sweat bands.
Football boots are worn by players to get grip on the playing surface and are need to avoid slipping and sliding round the pitch. They are particularly invaluable when the weather is wet but it is important that players are careful when tackling with studs on the sole of their feet as they can easily cause injury.
Socks are usually pulled up to the player’s knees and inside them one will find shin pads to protect legs and shins from damage when being tackled by the opposition. Socks vary depending on which kit is being worn and some are stripy while others are plain in colour.
The colour of the football kit will depend on which team is playing at home. The home team get to choose their home colours while the visiting team must wear their away kit. Sometimes teams can wear their home kit when playing away if the colours are not in any way related. Boots are nearly always black but some players have been known more recently to sport anything from bright pink to silver boots.
