Premier LeagueThe Premier League is the most exciting league in the entire world and it is no secret that most of the world agrees with this statement. Other exciting leagues include the Spanish, the Italian, the German and the French while the Portuguese is also gaining more notoriety.

The Premier League is the top tier of English football and is followed by the Championship, League One and League Two. There are currently 20 teams is the Premier League, which is also better known as the Premiership.

The 20 teams in the league will play each other twice in one season making 40 games to be played in total. Where teams finish will affect their placing in European competitions the following season as well as how much money they will get. The higher the finish the more money involved!

The top four teams usually consist of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal although recent years have seen Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa and Manchester City come up to challenge the more popular names. The Premier League began in the 1990s and teams like Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester United and Newcastle United have all been crowned champions.

Some managers in the Premier League come and go really quickly while others stay for years on end like Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson. Clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea seem intent on an ever changing team line up while smaller teams such as Stoke and Wolves will make do with the small teams they have to save money.
